It was becoming apparent that I loved the process of making - the repetitive rhythms of stitching, weaving and threading, as well as the recurrent patterns created by constructing surfaces.

In my curiosity to explore different materials: metals, porcelain, paper - I'd created unusually tactile pieces and became aware how important that quality was too. I also became fascinated by the effects of light and transparency and how I could translate all these aesthetics into my work.
